We have placed multiple students who are below grade level in double math and/or double reading classes. Seems to be going well...so far...

Two PE classes

Adding a second PE class for a student who was having difficulty focusing in class worked. He had a morning PE and afternoon PE. These two classes allowed him to expend his extra energy and kept him on task in core classes.
